How tuition works
What sets your family's tuition, and where to see the figures.
Tuition is set by your child's age, the schedule you choose and the days a week they come: mornings, the school day, or the school day with the extended afternoon. We show you the figures on the tour, with your child's schedule in front of us.
The child's age: 3 or 4
Mornings, the school day or extended day
Three, four or five days a week
Vermont pre-K, where a family takes part
Registration
Registration opens your child's file and covers the enrollment forms and the first set of materials. It is due once, when you accept a place.
Holding a place
A place is held with registration and the first month, which goes toward tuition. When a room is full you join the waitlist, and we write to families in the order of the list as places open.
Billing
Tuition is billed monthly, and you can set up automatic payment if you like.
Help with tuition
Sedge takes part in Vermont's pre-K program, and some families also use state child care assistance. Ask us how each works with our tuition and what is open this month.
More than one child
If a second child will join, tell us on the tour and we will explain how it works for your family.
Withdrawing
We ask for a month's written notice. What happens with the month in progress is explained when you enroll.
Other costs
Besides tuition there is the extended afternoon, for children who stay after the school day, and the occasional trip to the library or the river path. We explain each one in writing and say what it is for.
Ask about the figures on a tour
We go through your child's age, the schedule and pre-K, and give you the numbers in writing.
